Tilicho Lake Trek
Tilicho Lake is a lake located in the Manang district of Nepal, 55 kilometres as the crow flies from the city of Pokhara. It is situated at an altitude of 4,919 metres (16,138 ft) in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. Tilicho Lake is the destination of one of the most popular side hikes of the Annapurna Circuit trek.
Outline Itinerary
  • 01 Day: Pick up from airport and drop to hotel.
  • 02 Day: Drive to Chamje.
  • 03 Day: Drive about 3 hours till Chame and trek to Pisang.
  • 04 Day: Trek to Manang.
  • 05 Day: Trek to Tilicho Base Camp.
  • 06 Day: Trek to Jomsom via Tilicho Lake and Mesokantula Pass.
  • 07 Day: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara and Kathmandu.
  • 08 Day: Drive to airport and fly back
The Overview
Your Trekking Details
Day 1 Kathmandu (1320m)
You will be met by our representative and transfer to hotel and a short brief about the trekking after refreshment. Arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu
Welcome by Welcome Nepal Treks and Transfer to the hotel & briefing about program
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 Drive to Chamje.
Trekking staff will arrive at your Hotel at 7.00 am in the morning to pick you up. We have 7 hours of driving to Chamje. On arrival at Chamjeyou will witness stunning snow caped mountain scenery. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 3 Drive about 3 hours till Chame and trek to Pisang.
We take a short drive to Chame in the morning, and start the trek from Chame to Pisang. The trail leads easy walk towards Pisang passing along with the great scenery several countryside villages all the way up to PIsang. Overnight at Tea house Lodge.
Day 4 Trek to Manang.
Today we continue through the drier upper part of the Manang district. People of this region herd the yaks & raise crops for part of the year. Leaving Pisang, we have alternate trails north and south of the Marsyangdi River which meets up again at Mungji. The southern route by Hongde, with its airstrip (3325m) which involves less climbing than the northern route via Ghyaru, though there are better views on the trail that follows the northern bank of the river. From Mungji, the trail continues past the picturesque but partially hidden village of Bryanga (3475m) to nearby Manang (3540m). Overnight at Tea house Lodge.
Day 5 Trek to Tilicho Base Camp.
From Khangsar on a large path, pass a Gompa (monastery). The route ahead goes on a recently constructed path up towards a high ridge. At one point is an intersection. Trekking towards base camp, we will reach a high crest, and descend on switch backs carved out through the screed slopes to a side valley of the main valley. At its bottom is a brook. On the other side of it is a building known as Tilicho Base Camp at elevation (4200m). Overnight at tea house.
Day 6 Trek to Jomsom via Tilicho Lake and Mesokantula Pass
Start with a easy walk to through the trail, from Tilicho Lake and Mesokantula Pass and continue Jomsom. Then the trail leads you through the valley towards Himalaya where you may stop for the lunch and continue walk towards Jomsom. Overnight at tea house lodge
Day 7 Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara and Kathmandu
Take a flight back to Kathmandu from Pokhara via Jomsom.
Day 8 Transfer to international airport for your departure.
Today is your last day so Free time until departure
Transfer to the international airport for final departure
